How to Create a Worker Profile That Gets Noticed

  • 2 min read

Your Find My Crew profile is your chance to introduce yourself to farmers and agricultural businesses looking for workers.

You don't need to write an essay, but adding a little information about yourself can make a big difference.

1. Add a Profile Photo

A clear, recent photo helps put a face to your profile and makes it feel more complete.

It doesn't need to be professional. Just choose a clear photo where you're easy to recognise.

2. Tell People a Bit About Yourself

This is one of the most important parts of your profile.

A few sentences can tell an employer much more than your name and location alone.

Include things like:

  • Your agricultural experience

  • The type of work you're looking for

  • Machinery or equipment you've operated

  • Livestock experience

  • Licences or tickets you hold

  • When you're available

  • Whether you're willing to travel

Not sure what to write?

Instead of:

“Looking for farm work.”

Try:

“I'm looking for farm work across SA or Victoria and am available to start immediately. I have two years' experience with broadacre cropping, including tractor work, chaser bin driving and general farm maintenance. I hold a current driver's licence and am happy to travel for the right position.” It doesn't need to be long. It just needs to give someone a reason to contact you.

3. Add Your Experience and Skills

Make sure your profile reflects what you can actually do.

Even if you haven't worked in agriculture before, you may have skills that are useful on farm.

Think about previous work involving:

  • Machinery

  • Trucks or driving

  • Mechanical work

  • Construction

  • Animals

  • Fencing

  • Physical outdoor work

  • Welding or fabrication

4. Keep Your Availability Up to Date

If you're actively looking for work, make sure the information on your profile is current.

If your availability, location or the type of work you're looking for changes, update your profile so businesses know you're still looking.

Give Employers Something to Work With

Farmers and agricultural businesses browsing worker profiles need enough information to decide whether to get in touch.

A photo, a short introduction and some information about your experience can make your profile much more useful.
